The Family Promise model of care costs 1/3 less to operate than traditional shelters. Through the generosity and dedication of our volunteers and local host congregations, every dollar donated is matched by more than $3 of in-kind goods and services. At a cost of $15 a day per person, we provide meals, shelter, transportation and support services. Thanks to the generous support of individuals, corporations and foundations, families never pay for services.
All giving is important and every donation is a partnership with Family Promise to ensure the short and long-term success of children and families experiencing homelessness. From a gift card for gas, and funds to provide shelter, to helping families move into their own place, all bring so much joy and huge sighs of relief to our families. 1-877-CharityFrom time to time we have families that need a little more than most. These families, even while working full-time, need to save their earnings for future success. We like to have emergency funds and fun funds to help these families. Emergency funds help them with such things as car repairs, paying fees/getting caught up on bills and medical costs so the family can keep working and get back on track. Fun Funds help provide a party and/or gifts for a child’s birthday celebration or a fun family outing event, like going to the movies. Whatever it is, it is unique to the family that a donor will adopt for a specified amount of time.
Funds designated for this purpose help Family Promise provide shelter, Eviction Prevention and Shelter Diversion case management to families in crisis until we can get them back to stabilization. For some, it will be the first time they experience what it is like to have a stable living environment. Donations provided here ensure the children and families we serve always have a safe place to lay their heads at night.
To help families that have spent all their savings on the high cost of living and find themselves one emergency away from homelessness or one emergency potentially keeping them from re-entering stable housing. These funds cover such things as car repairs to make sure parents are able to get to and from work, medical bills, late fees or utility bills.

These are cards like Publix or Wal-Mart grocery cards, Gas Cards, Visa Gift Cards in $20 – $25 increments or LYFT transportation gift cards (we do not recommend Uber Gift Cards as they can be used to have food delivered when they are to be used to help families without transportation to get to and from work and medical appointments).

We’ve partnered with 1-877-Charity Cars, the nation’s largest free non-profit car donation/distribution program. If you have a car, truck, RV, boat or motorcycle in any condition that you are willing to donate, please click the link below to complete the donation form. Upon receipt, Charity Cars will facilitate the sale of your donated vehicle. 100% of the sale’s net proceeds will be returned to Family Promise of Martin County!
